Exciting news! This year’s People’s Choice Competition will be open to both food vendors and competitors. Ribs will be provided by the Downtown Troy BID. A minimum of 10 racks of ribs must be prepared. Tickets will be sold at the ticket desk; one ticket equals one rib. Competitors will be reimbursed fifty cents per ticket returned to the Downtown Troy BID. Everybody wins!
Tickets go on sale to the public at 3:00pm and you can start sampling from competitors at 5:00pm. For every five rib tickets you buy, you receive an official Dinosaur Bar-B-Que People's Choice ballot. A maximum of 20 tickets will be sold to each patron.
After you have sampled your fill of delicious ribs, drop your completed ballot back at the Downtown Troy BID ticket booth to register your vote!
$3,700.00 in cash prizes and trophies will be awarded for 1st and 2nd Place in each meat category, Grand Champion, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que People's Choice, Mayor's Choice. The Grand Champion across all three meat categories wins their business branding on the label for the Troy Pig Out Championship Hickory Barbeque Sauce and Brown Sugar Bourbon Rub for the following year. And don't forget the bragging rights!
