Troy, New York, October 23, 2012 – This Friday October 26th, Troy Night Out will celebrate the spooky season with Halloween themed events occurring all over Downtown. During the monthly art and culture event from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, the streets of historic Downtown Troy are alive with art openings, exhibits and receptions, live musical and theatrical performances, retail shop open houses and wonderful restaurants and cafes offering special events and discounts.

This Friday's Troy Night Out invites children and adults alike to come Downtown in costume and enjoy safe trick-or-treating at 35 participating downtown shops and restaurants.

New this year, the Downtown Troy Business Improvement District has organized a 'Zombie Mob', and has encouraged local college students and others join a zombie parade.

The Zombie Mob will originate on the RPI campus at 5:30 PM, stopping at Russell Sage and proceeding through Monument Square, picking up more zombies on the way. The Zombie Mob will culminate at the Troy Atrium at 3 Third Street, with a free zombie dance party from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM , complete with a thriller dance flash mob at 7:00 PM.

Some additional TNO highlights not to be missed include the Annual Haunted House at the John Paine Mansion at 49 Second Street and scary organ music concerts at two different historic churches Downtown, St. Paul's and First United Presbyterian. Jill Marie Morris, spiritual medium & author will make an appearance at Café Deli-icious, fortune tellers will give free readings at JK Bloom Jewelers and Sweet Sues at 203 River Street will be offering 'decorate your own candy apples'. These are just a few of the over 65 events and venues participating in the event.
