DOWNTOWN TROY BID MISSION

The BID cultivates and advocates the economic growth of Downtown Troy by creating an inviting, dynamic, and sustainable community that celebrates the City’s history while building towards its future.  The BID is dedicated to improving the quality of life within the District to further enhance and make our community a vibrant, attractive destination for visitors, businesses, residents, property owners, the daily workforce, and students. 


MEET & GREET THE CANDIDATES

Are you a resident of Troy? The City of Troy, NY will be electing new Troy City Council members for the 2018-2020 term, and all are welcome to join the Downtown Troy BID in getting to know these candidates through this informal meet and greet! 

This is the perfect gathering to talk one on one with the candidates and meet your neighbors! 


ANNUAL Troy Chowderfest

Sunday, October 8 | 12pm to 4pm

The 11th Annual Troy ChowderFest welcomes over 15,000 chowder-lovers who turn out and judge some of the best chowder in the area. Centered in Monument Square, guests purchase their tickets, explore the vendors and travel to the participating Downtown Troy restaurants distributing chowder from their establishments. Numerous local retailers participate in the day's activities with a citywide sidewalk sale. It's a full day of fall food, live music, and family fun!

FALL FOR RENT EVENT

Tuesday, October 24

This annual event showcases available commercial and residential properties in the Downtown Troy BID district with an open house and guided tour between 9:00am and 11:00am. A guided walking tour of the spaces will depart at 9:00am from the Downtown Troy BID office, located at 251 River Street.

MYSTERIES AND MAYHEM TOUR

Friday, October 27 at 6:30pm

Those seeking an especially scary experience during October's Troy Night Out, can be part of the Mysteries and Mayhem tour, presented by Old Troy Stories. This guided tour, will take place from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, and is sure to delight those in search of historically spooky and hair raising adventures. Tours are provided jointly by The Hudson Mohawk Industrial Gateway and The Rensselaer County Historical Society. Tickets are $15 or $10 for students and seniors and can be purchased below. 


RAISE . PLANT . GROW

The Downtown Troy Business Improvement District Foundation requests your support to grow Troy's urban tree canopy with the Raise . Plant . Grow initiative. The initiative will raise funds to plant up to 150 trees in downtown Troy, and will take place in stages as funds become available.

The first step will include clearing dead or dying trees, and removing stumps from existing tree wells. Once these tree wells are cleaned, in the fall and/or spring, new trees may be planted. The Downtown Troy BID beautification staff will mange watering of the trees.
